This mapping was carried out as part of a fellowship program with young leaders who are using geospatial technology to address climate change issues in Timor-Leste lead by G-SIG Association. Together, we conducted mapping for tourism sites in Timor-Leste and discovered tourist destinations that could have a positive impact on our nation. This mapping activity was supported by the Youth Climate Justice Fund for the association of Geographic Information System Group (G-SIG). It is an initiative that G-SIG carried out as a contribution from youth to the development of the tourism sector in Timor-Leste, supporting the country’s government policies. The tourism sector in Timor-Leste has great potential and exciting opportunities for growth and development. However, there are challenges that need to be addressed to fully unlock its potential. Together with us, we explored and mapped out the tourism potential in Timor-Leste, including Cultural-Based Tourism, Natural-Based Tourism, Religious-Based Tourism, and Community-Based Tourism.
